The formidable and controversial art dealer wants to clean the floor with his rivals.

ROD MENZIES is offering tips on how to buy art - or, rather, how not to. "Let me put it to you this way," the self-made millionaire says, as he launches into an explanatory anecdote. Picture a couple, strolling pleasantly along High Street in blue-chip Armadale, or its Sydney equivalent of Queen Street, Woollahra. Arms entwined, the elegant pair come across a sweet little gallery and see the most magnificent, colourful paintings and buy one for $5000, out of pure love for the work.
