Auction result gives hope to art market |

The art world is breathing a sigh of relief after a big auction in Melbourne this week showed signs the market is making a recovery.
Sotheby's recorded a 70 per cent clearance rate for the first night of its sale of important Australian art. Under the hammer were 172 pieces.
